Orchids in the interior design.

So, my dear friend the magic has happened. You saw a flower and you liked it, or perhaps you went to a Orchid festival and saw the miracles of the nature and decided to take them home? Or maybe perhaps you planned to make your house pure, clearer and harmonious? But the problem always will be where does your orchids fit into all of this? By interior design we should understand it's the art of creating or arranging the living space within a house (or flat) by specific compositions, measurements and elements that will be harmonious and the the sum of all of them will be equal and non vulgar to the eye and well-being of a person to whom the space belongs. Many people don't understand this concept and they overweight the room with gadgets, and clutter they "like" and find necessary to live with, or just because it's their space and they need it. This has nothing to do with interior design to be honest because this concept is to create a live

New orchid update...

Hey everyone, bit of a time gap here because I'm very busy at work and I need to study - which I ended not, because I'm mentally exhausted! However I made some new orchid purchases within the last month! Yay me. Yay more orchids! The problem is I don't have any more space on my windowsill and I still would like to have some more plants - the dilemma of living with the family. Anyway, orchids. Update. Here we go. First of all I must say I have a weakness for young orchids, especially very young ones. Partially because they are young and I have a bigger influence on how will they grow and perform, especially If I can support them with the best possible environment to develop and also I will be the one to see first flowers and just following the growth is so exciting and entertaining. Something that is not for people without patience. First of all... Wilsonara Caramel Gold. It's a Wilsonara, right I never had anything to do with this intergenetic type, I k

Great expectations and first flowers.

At the beginning of March everything slowly wakes up from winter slumber, and day by day we can see colourful spots of purple, yellow and snow white showing unexpectedly between gloom shadows. It is also the time that many orchid species and hybrids start flowering again or have been in flower for a while now, and opening more and more flowers due to the increasing hours of day light. There is a house I pass walking to work everyday and I'm in such an envy seeing their front window filled with freshly bought orchids, their first year at that house and magnificent blooms, but then I think that's the first months and then the real fun, the real test of patience and strong will begins. Saying that I can't complain, my beautiful Phal Baldan's Kaleidoscope is in bloom, it's third time and it's probably bigger than ever and the colours are so juicy and vivid! But more importantly, after a year and a half of patient care, reading, more care and hopeful wish

Vuylstekeara (Burrageara) Yokara Perfection x Oncidium leucochilum

This one orchid reminds of a beautifully cut piece of clothing from a more romantic era, stunning with vivid pink and white, not too much, not too sweet but just enough to take one's breath away for a moment or two. And beware, it's not for the faint hearted. This odontoglossum hybrid has a very mixed parenthood, no official registered name - as far as I can see anywhere - and different names depending on official materials. However this beautiful plant has been created by crossing a Vuylstekeara (Burrageara) Yokara Perfection and Oncidium Leucochilum, and depending on the clone there will be a slight difference between some of the flower characteristics, in example some of the plants may have narrower petals, or more white than purple markings or the other way around. But remember this is not a bad thing! Never, never ever think that since your flowers don't look exactly like the ones on the internet they are ugly! It's totally the opposite, especially with c
